As an associate professor of instruction, Hannah teaches courses related to public policy, political science and public/nonprofit management. Her current course load includes courses related to civic engagement, public policy, and state/local politics.

Hannah’s pedagogical perspective is centered on a belief that within every person is a desire to learn and to teach, lilmod v’lilamed. To that end, she structures her classes in ways that utilize a variety of different teaching platforms and teaching mediums to enable every person in the room to learn and to give over what they’ve learned to others. Hannah has taken this method beyond her own classrooms, to apply it to classes she teaches in her community, private lectures/trainings, and her own home.

When not teaching or working on civic engagement efforts, Hannah is involved in a variety of research projects, especially through her Research and Analysis for Public Innovation and Discovery (RAPID) Lab at UTD. Her research primarily focuses on the ways in which public sector agencies seek to resolve social concerns. Currently, she is working on several projects with city and county leaders across the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
